From the top of the hill where it was built, the Castle overlooks the village.
It dates back to the IX-X centuries and was changed several times because of the earthquakes that have devastated the area.
The manor was particularly damaged by the disastrous earthquake of 1980.
Its structure is therefore a combination of shapes and styles that show the several renovation works.
Only the tower and some parts of the walls are original. A sad and distressing event has characterised the fame of this place where, in 1382, Giovanna d’Anjou, Queen of Naples, was killed.
