In the High Part of Lauria, some remains of the old Castle and its square based tower are still visible. Inside, the Admiral Ruggiero di Lauria is thought to have been born. He was famous for having conquered Sicily from the Aragons.
San Nicola’s Church has a bell tower of the XV century; inside the Church there is a high altar with carved marble decorations, the wooden statues of the Madonna and San Sebastiano, some paintings by Mario Lanziani.
In the Church of Santa Maria dei Martiri there is a wooden painting of Neapolitan school, of the XV century.
In the Low Part, there is the ‘Congrea’ Church, with a bell tower of the XV century.
Inside this Church there is a canvas of Neapolitan school representing the ‘Madonna col Bambino’, of the XVII century. San Giacomo’s Church has a bell tower of the XIV century and a carved wooden choir of 1554.
In the ‘Collegio dell’Immacolata Concezione’ there is a cloister surrounded by Roman columns.
